To comply with financial regulations, Aureo requires identity verification before you can buy or sell bitcoin. Aureo uses Sumsub, a secure third-party verification provider, to process your documents.

Step 1: Document and selfie verification (Sumsub)

You will be guided through Sumsub's verification flow, which includes:

  • Uploading a government-issued photo ID (INE, passport, or equivalent)

  • Taking a live selfie for identity confirmation

Step 2: Personal information forms

After completing document verification, you will be asked to provide:

  • Full legal name

  • Date of birth

  • Gender

  • Phone number

  • Nationality and country of birth

  • Country of residence and full address

  • Occupation

  • Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, or lease agreement)

  • RFC and/or CURP (if you are a Mexican resident or were born in Mexico)

  • Whether you are a Politically Exposed Person (PEP)

Verification usually completes within minutes, though it may take longer in some cases. You will be notified of the result.

Once approved, you can buy and sell bitcoin.

What happens if my verification is rejected?

Description: What to do if your identity verification is not approved.

If your verification is rejected, you will see the reason on your identity page. Common reasons include:

  • Unclear or expired ID document

  • Selfie does not match the ID photo

  • Information entered does not match the document

You can resubmit your verification.
