How does Aureo charge fees?

Learn how Aureo's pricing works.

Written by Tristan

Aureo charges a tiered fee based on the size of each transaction, applied as a spread over the market exchange rate. No hidden spreads on the spot price, no SPEI withdrawal fees.

Standard rates (up to $199,999 MXN per transaction):

  • Under $5,000 MXN: 2.00%

  • $5,000 – $19,999 MXN: 1.75%

  • $20,000 – $49,999 MXN: 1.50%

  • $50,000 – $199,999 MXN: 1.25%

OTC Desk rates (from $200,000 MXN — requires Tier 2 or Tier 3 verification):

  • $200,000 – $1,999,999 MXN: 1.00%

  • $2,000,000 – $19,999,999 MXN: 0.85%

  • $20,000,000 MXN and above: 0.75%

To access OTC rates, you must complete the corresponding identity verification: Tier 2 (monthly limit of $2,000,000 MXN, requires proof of income or net worth documentation) or Tier 3 (no preset limit, terms defined with your advisor).

The fee applies to both buy and sell transactions. When buying bitcoin (MXN → BTC) the fee is included in the exchange rate; when selling (BTC → MXN) the peso amount you enter is the amount you receive — the fee is deducted on the bitcoin side.

No subscription costs or account maintenance fees.
