Aureo's standard sell flow uses a Lightning invoice, which is ideal for small, fast sales. But if your bitcoin sits in cold storage or a wallet without Lightning support, an on-chain sell lets you pay from any Bitcoin wallet: you send bitcoin to an address Aureo gives you, and once the transaction confirms, your pesos arrive by SPEI.
Before you start
Your identity verification must be approved.
Your personal bank account must be set up in Aureo.
You need any on-chain Bitcoin wallet, including hardware wallets or software wallets.
Steps to sell on-chain
Open the account menu and select Sell bitcoin.
Enter the amount in Mexican pesos you want to receive and confirm your destination bank account.
Choose on-chain as the payment method.
Aureo shows a Bitcoin address and the exact amount of bitcoin to send. Copy them into your wallet, or scan the QR code, and send the payment.
Wait for the network confirmation. Once your transaction confirms, Aureo converts the bitcoin and sends the pesos to your bank account via SPEI.
Keep in mind
Send the exact amount shown. Underpaid or overpaid transactions may delay your order.
On-chain confirmations typically take 10 to 60 minutes, so on-chain sells are slower than Lightning sells.
Choose an appropriate network fee in your wallet: a fee that is too low can leave your transaction waiting for hours.
Practical takeaway
On-chain selling connects your cold storage directly to your bank account. For everyday amounts, the Lightning sell flow remains the fastest option.
