How to add or remove a Lightning or on-chain address in Aureo

Manage the wallet addresses where you receive the bitcoin you buy.

Escrito por Claudia

Aureo is non-custodial: the bitcoin you buy is delivered to a wallet address you control. My addresses is where you keep those destinations. You can save several, set a default, and remove the ones you no longer use.

Address types you can save

  • On-chain addresses: legacy (starts with 1), script (starts with 3), SegWit (bc1q...), and Taproot (bc1p...).

  • Lightning Address: the email-like format, for example [email protected].

  • LNURL: LNURL-pay compatible addresses.

  • Not supported: BOLT11 invoices (starting with lnbc...). They expire, so they cannot be saved as a receive address.

Add an address

  1. Open the account menu in the top-right corner and select My addresses.

  2. Tap Add address.

  3. Give the address a label you will recognize, such as My hardware wallet.

  4. Paste the address, scan its QR code, or type it. Both on-chain addresses and Lightning Addresses are accepted.

  5. Tap Save.

Open the account menu and select My addresses.

Label the address, paste or scan it, and tap Save.

Remove an address

  1. In My addresses, find the address you want to delete.

  2. Tap the three-dot menu on its card.

  3. Select the delete option and confirm.

Each saved address has a three-dot menu for managing or removing it.

For security, Aureo sends you an email notification whenever your payout address changes. Always verify a new address carefully: bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed.

Practical takeaway

Save a labeled address for each wallet you use, keep your everyday one as the default, and switching destinations at checkout becomes a single tap.
